Friday’s Face — Miss (but not for long!) Kiley
Today’s Friday’s Face is the beautiful Kiley J. She’s been a part of our team for several years now and always brings a hilarious perspective to whatever is going down in Starlite. Oh, and she’s sporting a new rock these days… we’re all still trying to figure out how to slip it off her finger without her noticing.
Kiley. My sweet, hilarious Kiley. Welcome to Friday’s Face.
Why hello, my lovely Amy Beth!
I believe you have some recent (and very exciting) news to share with the MinSoFab family. The bloggy floor is yours:
Well, yes… I do! (I really need to familiarize myself with that phrase!) I am getting married this summer to the most wonderful man in the world! And yes, Amy Beth, he’s even more wonderful than your Imaginary Boyfriend. Sorry.
Um, we’ll discuss that last part at some other time, you little punk. On another note, I hate to bring this up in such a public place, but I just wanted to remind you that time is running out for you to ask me to be the flower girl in your wedding.
I’m telling you, you’ll have to fight it out with my 4 year old niece, Bella. I think she just might be able to take you. I really do.
Whatev’. I’ll take that munchkin out when you’re not looking.
Well, she is short… so she could bite your ankles off. Not that I would teach her anything like that…
Moving on to far more important things: please tell all the interlings what your position in Starlite is.
I am the wonderful, fabulous and talented director of the best (and oldest) Sparkle program in Starlite!
If you were trying to describe what you do in Starlite to someone who has never been around us before, you would say…
I get to goof off with some pretty silly middle school (and college) girls. That’s after I teach a lesson, of course! I am also in charge of the volunteers for my program; I make sure we have the supplies for our program each week and I deal with whatever tough situation may arise. Not like THAT ever happens. I mean, we are a perfect ministry… right?
Oh yes, of course we’re a perfect ministry… that is, until you get to know us, right? But I kind of like the fact that most of the time, we have absolutely no idea what we’re doing next. Keeps things fresh. Speaking of fresh… would you please describe to the interlings what happened one sunny afternoon when I asked you to pull weeds in the flowerbeds at the Starlite office?
Sunny? Yes. Warm? No. Well, this particular afternoon, Amy Beth asked me and another girl to weed the flowerbeds. We couldn’t find the small shovel-like-things that she said were in the basement, so we went to the kitchen and found some big, sturdy spoons. They didn’t work out as well as we had hoped.
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget the look on your face when I found you with those serving spoons.
Yes, well. We did try to hide it. But, if I recall correctly, I did buy you a spoon to replace the one that touched a worm… ewwwwwww!
Yuck-o buck-o. Hey Kiley, when I give my flower girl speech at your wedding reception, can I please tell that story?
First of all, flower girls don’t give speeches.
This one does.
And secondly… no.
You’re not making this easy, Kiley.
Well, I’m the bride. What did you expect?
