No, really, I love it when my dinner goes up in flames.
My precious lambs,
When attempting to defrost something for dinner, it is best not to microwave styrofoam. Shall you insist on such behavior, you may want to first remove the batteries from your smoke detector.
Love,
Your Favorite Domestic Diva

Hi, Amy Beth! Popped over from Sophie’s. I just read your 101 Things List, and I officially declare myself a Lifetime Fan (of YOU, not top 101 lists). I was keeping a tally in my head of all the things I wanted to comment about, and it got too long and they all started spilling over and all I remember now is Shamu and Jessifer. It was brilliant, all of it.
You are SO funny. And cute. And I love your tagline. (is that what those are called?) I’ll be back!

Are you, um, speaking from experience? Tonight’s experience perhaps?
Sorry your dinner is toasted.

You’re killing me!
I laughed out loud which startled my cat. Yeah, it was that loud.

That is too hysterical! I did that once too and promptly started a little fire in the microwave:o).
I love your writing style; I came here from BooMama!

OOOH NOOO!
Oh, and a word of advice to you… not from experience or anything….
Regular dish soap (like Dawn or Palmolive) does not react the same in a dishwashing machine as dishwasher detergent does. You might… just might… end up doing some serious mopping. But hey, your flloor will be really clean. ![]()

Glad I’m not the only one to put things in the microwave that don’t belong in the microwave.
My incident may have been a stainless steel cup that caught on fire in a teacher’s lounge at the high school I attended but was currently working at.
Yeah, it may have been…

Oh my. I’ve never had styrofoam ignite, although it has melted a few times at work.
Perhaps I shall get myself to Cleveland and I will give you a cooking lesson and you can teach me all about being a minister! ![]()

When I was 1st married, I tried to make a homemade pizza on my new pizza stone. I accidentally stuck the pot holder in the oven too. It makes a nice fire. =/

Oh my, you really need to come to one of my cooking classes (aka. me and a few close friends getting together and everyone watches me cook). It’s fun stuff.
Since everyone is adding a tidbit for future use:
NEVER put water on a grease/oil fire…use baking soda (not flour-it explodes)…baking soda. ![]()

styrofoam also doesn’t do well in the oven even if it is on “warm,” hence the company for dinner on Tuesday smelled Tropical Paradise something or other because the toasted ravioli/styrofoam smell HAD to go away…

Mm, also if your dishes are lined with the teensiest bit of metal. Learned that one the hard way (i.e. sparks in my microwave)
