Well, since you took pity on me about the water…
I shall now reveal item two that the Lord asked me not to have in this week. If you thought the whole “Ye must drinkith 90 ounces of waterth each dayth this weekth, thus sayest the Lord” was tough, you might want to buckle your seat belt for THIS one:
No fried food. At all. In any form.
Now, I know what some of you are thinking: “Why, this wouldn’t be difficult at all!”
You, my former friends, are sadly mistaken.
I want you to listen closely to what I’m about to tell you: I have never met a chicken nugget I haven’t fallen in love with. In fact, I am sad to report that I probably eat chicken nuggets more than any other food.
Yes, I am the same as your four year old daughter.
And french fries? Do I even have to remind you that my BFF’s nickname is, um, French Fry? And she didn’t get that name on her own, folks. I have often partaken of said french fries with French Fry (confused yet?). But only to further cement our friendship, of course.
After all, friends are friends forever if the french fries are shared between them.
Oh no. I feel a Michael W. Smith sing-a-long starting up in here!
“And a friend will not say never, ’cause they french fry goodness will not end.
Though it’s hard to let them go, in the trash can I know,
That a lifetime week’s not too long…
… to live without them.”
Farwell, my little nuggets of chicken-y goodness. I’ll see you next week.
Hopefully.

Here you go: Some healthy(er) french fry & chicken nuggets recipes
Chicken tender
seasoned bread crumbs garlic, onion, parsley, parmesan ..whatev
pureed broccoli or spinach & an egg mixed together
pat the chicken dry, dip in pureed veg mix, coat in breadcrumbs, bake in oven 350 for 20 min or so.
French fries: wedge a potato, toss in a bowl of olive oil, parmesan, garlic, onion, basil…whateve & bbake in a 450 oven for about 40 min. turning once.

I understand.
I try not to order french fries because I WILL EAT THEM ALL!
When my boyfriend gets fries… I EAT MOST OF HIS!
Well, you live in the South so maybe fried food is harder to avoid -so I hear- but it’s not that hard to avoid. Most of the best food isn’t fried.
Don’t shoot me for saying that!
See, I’m allergic to many foods - fish and seafood in particular - so I stopped eating fried food because most restaurants can’t guarantee that my fried yummy goodness won’t be fried in a vat with something deadly to me.
I swear - if people just followed the TRS food restriction diet - EVERYONE would be a size 4!!

OH AB!
I know the sacrifice that you speak of. My mom and I LOVE potatoes, especially fries. We gave them up for 3 months for my wedding…sounds silly, I know, but I was having an outdoor wedding in a garden, and I knew that God would know my heart’s desire of a rain-less wedding if He saw how serious I was in keeping my commitment of fasting (chips, fries, smashed, roasted…none!). He is faithful, and I had a beautiful, sunny, wedding day after a night of sprinkling rain. Why? you ask….because I am a child of the King! He loves me!
Seriously, you are going to be blessed by obeying Him. I’m looking forward to that post!
PS…on the way to our hotel, while in the limo, my hubby instructed the driver to stop at a McD’s just so I could have my beloved fries! ![]()

Amy Beth - you may have noticed that I just discovered your blog in the past week or two.
( I’m all Christopher Columbus like that - I DISCOVERED IT!)
Can you please share with me - how does God speak to you? The example from driving to your boyfriends and being pulled to the church where it was clear you needed to end the relationship… to your example today… how to you hear God’s voice?
I’m not presuming you hear voices in your head.. .but how do you discern God’s messages. I am always asking for signs - for God to show me my place on his path… but all those signs are open for interpretation.
What is He doing for you that I can learn from?
Thanks,
Tammy
