The ministry that goes Dumpster Diving together, stays together.

For all of you who have been sweet enough to ask how it’s going in the Starlite office, I would just like to answer by telling you that when I got up at the crack of dawn this morning to print 400 letters that need to go out today, I realized that (apparently) someone threw away all 2,000 pieces of our new letterhead order on Saturday during our Major Cleaning Day at the office.  Accidents happen.

I’ll be heading to the printing company now to ask for a little favor.

Or, you know, 2,000 little favors.  By noon today.  Stat.

(P.S. - I want you to know that, during the tears that came with the realization that our letterhead was long gone, I actually said to myself “Remember, AB, ministry is so fabulous.”)

(For the record, it doesn’t feel too fabulous today.)

(But I’m not in ministry based on my feelings.)

(’Cause if I was, I would be long gone by now.)

(I’m just sayin’.)

Hang in there. Sometimes God has an ironic, but good, twist up his sleeve

Unfortunately, these things happen. When I worked for Young Life, I actually mailed out hundreds of letters without the most important piece of paper I was supposed to include. Not a happy day, but oh well. God still worked it all out. =)

Being in ministry, I know how tight funds are and how something like that can be so, so disheartening. I have to just remember God didn’t call me (and you) and bring me (and you) this far only to leave us hanging. HE isn’t surprised by this and has something wonderful in store to teach from it.

Hangest thou in there!

it’s always something, right? at least nobody threw away any sunny d or PNC. i mean, that would be tragic! so things can always be worse! :) just keep taking one more step forward and you WILL get to the goal!!

Ministry is definitely not based on feelings; I hope they’ll get out of the way soon!

Yikes…that means Millie and I are partially responsible as we took it to the dump…
