In control.

I know I told you that I’d be back today with a re-cap from the conference but that was before I remembered that I am scheduled for back-to-back meetings until 9:30 p.m. tonight.

Who’s bringing dinner to the Starlite office? Dominos? Is that you I hear?

So, I’ll be here bright and early tomorrow to tell you all the fun stuff. But first, I have to tell you what just happened here in the office:

I was going through the back-to-school financial donations that had come in while was gone for the weekend and realizing that we’ll need some Major Miracles in order to buy the amount of processed nacho cheese we’ll need. Don’t get me wrong — we’re not hurting financially, but we’re also not receiving the normal amounts of donations which we believe is due to the economy.

I put the donation report away and whispered “I know You’ve got it under control” before heading out to our front lobby to check on something. As I went out there, I noticed that our vase of (fake) flowers that sits on our fireplace mantle was turned the wrong way. I went over to adjust it, and when I did, I noticed that something was tucked in between the flowers.

It was a gift card to Sam’s Club (where we buy our PNC) for a very, very generous amount.

Even more amazing?

On the front of the card, only two things were written:

“To Starlite. From Jesus.”

You do have it in control, don’t You?

Oh My Gosh! That is the most beautiful wonderful thing - dare I say, even better than good hair! That had to just make your day and encourage your soul. I know it did mine.

Thanks for sharing!

p.s. I tell my kids all the time “God is in control.” Once my older daughter was nervous about testing for her next belt in Tae Kwon Do and starting crying. My then 3 yr old said “God is in control…but she’s still crying.” It was so funny.

Financial support for our ministry has slowed as well. But like Starlite, God has Faithful Friend Ministry right in the palm of His hand, and it is SO amazing to watch Him provide.

Thank you, Jesus, for providing even PNC and for reminding AB (and me) that You are in fact in control!

Now that’s the God I know. I’ve been smiling from ear to ear over this story, AB. This needs to go in your encouragement file.
