A party fit for our little prince…
We gave Roomie a quiet shower this weekend so that we could celebrate our baby on the way. Since all three of you that read the blog couldn’t be here, we thought we’d bring the shower to you via MinSoFab. Grab a cupcake, loves::
I didn’t actually buy the food and decorations until that morning (listen, someone you know is working overtime at a certain hot pink ministry right now), so needless to say, I was glad we were able to pull everything off in time. Thanks to Cara and Bon-Bon’s decorating skills, Allie’s flower arranging talent, Sarah Beth’s fruit kabob-ing cleverness and Cate’s wrapping expertise, we barely made it.
But don’t think I didn’t crash the minute the last person left our house, ya’ll.
More on the gifts and rest of the weekend later…

What a pretty shower! Looks like you did a great job!
AB, you do blue just as fabulous as you do pink. Nice job.
It looks like y’all had such a yummy party!
I wish I could’ve been there!!!!
It looked sooo cute!!!!!
You even wore blue! How cute! My fave deco was the blue onesies on the clothes line. I love throwing showers and I am definitely stealing that idea for my next one!
i want to throw a party now,,,,,i’m thinking girlsnight!!!
It looked fabulous! Wish I could have attended, it seemed like such fun AND great looking food.
BTW.. Where is the Sunny D?
Forgot to tell you…Your cuteness won you an award! Go check out my blog!
Thanks for the virtual cupcake, it was yummy!
Looks like it was a wonderful shower to celebrate his new life and his mama!
I wanted to mention to you: The bassinet/ pack-n-play thing… my friend who had her baby in July hit a snag– her baby got too tall to lay on it the short ways. The pack-n-play has 4 “boards” in its mattress (which is what wraps around it to “pack” it). Laying in the long way didn’t work quite so well– it seems it sagged a bit because of the 4 boards.
Now of course, her children are extremely tall (like off the charts), so more than likely Roommie’s Baby will be fine laying short ways until he’s ready for the crib. And my friend actually just decided to move her little one to his crib (she just had to go get a mattress for it). I still think the pack-n-play w/ bassinet is the best option, but since I had recommended it I wanted to update you and Roomie.
I’m very excited for you guys! I spent an hour yesterday snuggling a sleeping baby. I came home smelling like him– it was glorious!
Sorry for the lengthy comment…
Having thrown a shower or two (or seventy) in my time, I have to tell you that THAT is about the cutest thrown-together-at-the-last-minute shower I’ve ever seen! In fact, it’s cuter than some I’ve been to that were planned for months!
So excited for you – big changes ahead for you and Roomie. And I’m not just talking diapers!
)
Shower food is my favorite.
I love the shower decor!! And the food looks nummy too!
Awww – what a sweet party. Thanks for “inviting” me.
OMG! Cute cute cute!
Can’t believe you ‘threw’ that together. I love the bright blue contrasting with light blue – dots. Dots are always so festive.
Nice work. You rock.
TRS
You guys rock color coordinating!
What a sweet baby blue shower! So cute! Well done!
What a beautiful baby shower! Stunning! And you?! Also stunning!
PS… if that is you exhausted in the last picture… well my dear you are a prime example of a glorious, beautiful Southern Belle!
You should put that picture on your eHarmony link – if you had one! you look FABULOUS!
And I just want to point out… I’ve been using Fabulous for years… it’s not just for your benefit!
Everything was beautiful and yummy. Sorry I couldn’t stay longer and see all of the gifts. It was one of THOSE days and as much as I wanted to be there, I knew I was only in control of my emotions for a mere seconds longer!
Let me know if you or Roomie need anything else before the little guy arrives!!!
Love the blueness quite the contrast to all the pink you have at the Starlite events!
Wow! You look amazing! Simply Beautiful!!!
[...] August was a busy month that started out with a trip to take care of my eyebrows and a little party to celebrate The Most Awesome Engaged Couple Ever. I made the breakfast of champions and wished I could talk to myself six years ago. In caught a flight to San Antonio to attend my first Beth Moore event where I also tried my first puffy taco. My dreams of what Beth’s hair would look like were not just met but actually exceeded. I had an unfortunate incident at Babies ‘R Us and helped give a fun baby shower. [...]
Looks like a great shower! I found you over at Kelly’s.
