Send heated blankets, stat. This is not a drill.

I would love to tell you about the mini-vacation I took Roomie on this past weekend, but my laptop is currently dead as I wait for my friends at Gateway to revive it by sending me a new battery. I can’t wait to get the pictures off of it to show you what a fun time we had, fetus included.

However, I have a more pressing concern on my mind this morning as I sit using Roomie’s laptop which is actually very nice seeing as it has all the keys whilst (I JUST WENT ALL BRITISH ON YOU!) my laptop is missing the following keys: a; s; k; o; 1; 2; 5; 9 and F7.

I would like to thank Snuggles y Cuddles for that little gift.

Back to my pressing concern: our house is currently freezing. I woke up in the night to find that the two thick blankets on me were just not enough; both I, and my two love puppies; were literally shivering. This has become a problem in the last few days weeks months, so I gently asked Roomie to come into my room to feel the temperature since she claims her room is never cold.

“See what I mean?” Surely she would start shivering too. Even fetus might start to complain.

“Your room isn’t even as cold as mine! But that’s probably because I turned on the fan this morning ’cause I was getting hot.”

This prompted me to go downstairs to check the little temperature thing-y which was set on a cool 65 DEGREES, DO YOU HEAR WHAT I AM TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW?

I ever so gently yelled those sentiments up the stairwell to which Roomie replied “Oh, that’s wonderful! It feels great up here!”

And that would be why I am currently wearing a shirt, turtleneck and ski vest as I type.

65 degrees. SIXTY FIVE DEGREES.

Is this when I tell you that we keep our house at 60 in the winter? Really it’s because we have electric heat and the electicity out in our neck of the woods is expensive (which I don’t understand, but anyway…).

When I’m NOT pregnant, I’m one of those people who freezes to death ALL THE TIME… even in the summer.
When I AM pregnant, poor Brandon.
Chandler was born in January. Riley in March.
With Chandler I kept our little apartment so cold that Brandon wore socks and shoes are the house at all time because he couldn’t handle the freezing hardwood floors! At night… not only did I have the air conditioner on (in oct, nov, dec, and jan), but I slept with the ceiling fan AND a box fan set on high!
With Riley I tried to keep things a little bit more “normal” in the winter months… I couldn’t afford to have a sick 4 year old on my hands while being OH SO VERY PREGNANT due to my extreme body temperature issues. :)

Isn’t it great that she feels comfortable enough w/ you to mess w/ your thermostat? THAT’S a good friendship!

ooo sister, think of all the money you’re saving on heating bills right now that can be used for diapers at a later date!

65 sounds good to me! A little warm actually for fall/winter. I usually keep my heat at 60. The whole point of these seasons is curling up under tons of blankets with hot cocoa/cider/tea to read a good book.

I keep my house at 67 during the day (Fall & Winter) & 65 at night.

My hubs froze in the delivery room. It is even colder in there. Bring a very warm sweatshirt, sweatpants & even a hat. My hubs’ bald head froze so bad, he wrapped his extra sweatshirt around his head. Seriously.

My grandmother is the exact opposite. She keeps it at 85 in the summer months and even warmer in the colder months. We practically are roasted when we go to her house. We keep it 70 at our house… :)

Don’t listen to them/\. 65 is COLD for inside a house. Fine for out of doors but good heavens people inside a SHELTER… it should be comfortable.
Granted, I would have made a lousy pioneer. So glad I reside in modern America with my steam heat radiator!!

Now… knowing Roomie is pregnant, I’ll give her a pass.

So… the VERY BEST THING about giving birth in the hospital is those heated blankets! Don’t hesitate to ask for some for yourself, AB. Th nurses are usually very kind to share them. =)

Yeah, by the way, I gave you an award! I wrote my comment earlier, got a call, hit “submit” and then got completely sidetracked to tell you. Sheesh!

SO…MISS AMY BETH…COME ON DOWN!! I’ve given you an award on my blog!

(Can I claim being new to the blog award thing?)

I would like to tell you that you can defrost after the baby is born, but if she breastfeeds, it will only get worse. My home is an igloo and I am typically cold natured.

I’m going to be in major trouble when I am pregnant some day. Cuz I’m always hot already, and it will only go down hill.

For the record, I would like to defend myself here. It is true that I do enjoy the house set at 65 during all times of the year, especially since heat is so expensive. But I would like everyone to know that I have not adjusted the thermostat for at least a month. And since the weather outside is cooling off considerably, the temperature inside is doing the same. Also, AB was the only one wearing a thermal vest, gloves and scarf yesterday – so who is the odd one now? I refuse to blame my pregnancy – it’s the norm people! I feel better already.
