If I’m wrong, I don’t wanna be right.
There is no baby yet. And, if you know Roomie in real life, I would suggest not asking if she is just SO sick of being pregnant and just WHEN is she going to have that baby?
Just trust me on that one.
Here’s the deal: the drugs from last week haven’t sent her into labor so it’s unlikely that they’re going to at this point. We’re going to the doctor’s office on Wednesday morning where they will likely send us directly to the hospital to start things. Our doctor has already told us that he doesn’t let women go over one week past their due dates, so there’s no way he’ll let her go any longer.
Of course, there’s always the option that Roomie is making this whole pregnancy thing up and there’s really no baby in there at all. You be the judge.
Our weekend was pretty uneventful, at least compared to the idea of having a baby. When I got home from work on Friday night, there were no sounds coming from the Pregnancy Cave (aka her bedroom) so I decided to take a little nap.
Basically, I slept through Halloween. All of it. I know.
The next morning, there were still no signs of life coming out of the Cave, so I timidly ventured inside. There she lay in bed, still very pregnant. And so, I did what any of you would do: I told her to be ready at noon and walked out of the room.
I quickly came up with a plan that involved Cracker Barrel, because what good plan doesn’t include The Restaurant of All Restaurants? We then went to Target to pick up some things for Allie’s Starlite shower (more on this later), but somehow got sidetracked in the Halloween candy aisle. There were large 50% off signs everywhere and we felt it was our duty to dig through the pile to see if there were any Reese Cups left.
There were.
But there aren’t any left at our local Target in case you were wondering.
Interestingly, the Mint Three Musketeers are all gone as well.
And I have no idea who could have bought all of them.
Certainly not a 10 month pregnant woman and her enabling friend.
Certainly not.
(Just kidding. We only bought a bag.)
(Okay, two bags.)
(Some of which we gave away yesterday.)
(Which totally makes it okay.)
(Right?)

Ooh. Ooh. I got three packages of Tootsie Pops, one bag of Candy Corn and the huge mixed bag of Starburst/Skittles - for a grand total of $6.40!
I get 10% off at Target. Hee hee hee.

Of COURSE it makes it OK.
I don’t know if you know this, but according to my old boss (who, for the record is a tall, thin man who’s waist is about the diameter of a pencil)….there is a small pouch in your stomach that ALWAYS creates room for treats and dessert.
And what is even more amazing is that when you bite into treats and dessert, all the calories fall out. Which makes donuts even better because when they punched the hole–the calories were out way before you took the first bite.
OK. I’ll go back to work now : )

oh my gosh… amybeth… when i was pregnant after 4 days of induction various medications to do so etc… i started to tell myself i’m not having this baby ever (not that i really thought that but trust me i was hormone CWAZY) then ofcourse after 6+ hours of PUSHING i told everyone in the room i wasn’t having the baby to go home. my dr was away and i had an on call dr who wouldn’t believe that i needed a c section. well guess what… i should have had that c section because i have permanent nerve damage in my back from delivery.. anyway… nobody would listen so i told them all to go home i was not having a baby. it’s funny now but then it wasn’t because i truly said that. again, ofcourse i didn’t mean it— but trust me i remember very vividly how roomie feels right now.
when the apple is ripe it’ll fall from the tree… lol it might just need a push…
the reward in the end in all of this is a beautiful innocent blessing… i can’t wait for you and roomie to experience it.
xoxoxo

I am not good at waiting, anymore. Please, please PUSH. This past weekend might be the last time you sleep for the next 18 plus years.

I found a bag of mint 3 musketeers on 50% off on Saturday… they are almost all gone now! ![]()
Sadly I didn’t get any candy corn.
But I did get dark chocolate M&M’s!
Good luck with the induction thing. I hope it goes well for you!
And just so you know, we have some CRAZY times going on here (not our immediate family, but it will probably affect us) so if y’all can pray for that it would be wonderful! There’s a sweet innocent baby involved, too. ![]()

Hmmm… I was just looking for those little mint musketeers and couldn’t find any — have you been to Pennsylvania lately?!?

I was just induced for labor this past May. Let me tell you — it was WONDERFUL. Like checking into a hotel. We just showed up with our stuff, all prepared and calm. They knew we were coming, nurses were so kind. I pray that roomie has the same experience. She’ll do great!
