A wee bit ‘o business.

Ahem.

1. All Starlite email addresses are down. That means, if you’ve emailed me (especially about Ye Olde Starlite Christmas Surprise) I can’t read or respond to your email. So, until we get the server issues fixed, please email me at ministrysofab AT yahoo DOT com.

2. Roomie and her little bambino have not yet been released from the hospital. We were hoping for this morning, but that obviously didn’t happen. So, sure, you can keep praying if you insist.

3. Your comments on yesterday’s post were awfully sweet. I edited the post to remove some of my thoughts about our experience with our church. Some comments asked if I had even let anyone from the church know that Roomie had her baby and the answer is yes, I did. I’m assuming that this is simply a case of the ball being dropped and I will be the last to cast judgment on that as I understand how that can happen. The point I was trying to make is that the Church — as in capital C — needs to understand that the new mamas most in need of a visit, flowers, card, whatever are the ones who are alone.

4. I owe some Starbucks to one of y’all after your help with our big fundraising effort! The randomly drawn winner of the $25 Starbucks gift card is Amanda Davenport. Email me, girl!

5. Speaking of caffeine, do you think I could convince the one of the nurses to set me up with my own IV to pump some caffeinated goodness right into my veins?

6. My hair looks awful today. I just needed to keep it real, yo.

Having a baby in your life will do that to you.

You’ve had a lot going on. Things will come together soon. =)

Maybe your hair is awful today so that it can look great on the day that Roomie and Baby do get to come home. It’s important for hair to look great in the traditional bringing baby home shots. Though I suppose not as important as actually bringing baby home.

Dire need for caffeine. Unkempt hair. Check. Check. Welcome to motherhood, my friend.

Just wait till all your nice clothes are stained with previously-digested sour milk. Then you’ll really be living it up. =)

You know I’m kidding… maybe.

Just wait until the baby comes home and the entire hospital staff remains at the hospital. We’ll talk the need for caffeine then. But I have to say, IT’S ALL WORTH IT. God will give you the best gifts to keep you going – the first smile, the first “mama”, the first waive bye-bye. It’s those moments when the enormity of your role is realized and it is also then that you know you would never want anything else. And then sometimes you wonder why you would ever want to sleep – you might miss something. But then you realize that’s just the sleep deprivation talking and go take a nap.
