Don’t be surprised if you get a tongue depressor in your stocking this year, kids.
Hello, it is 3:42 a.m. Lovely to see you at this fine hour in the morning.
Actually, I just went to check my SiteMeter to see if any of you are actually reading the blog at this very moment in time. It’s showing that no one has been to the blog in the last 37 minutes.
SHOCKING, I KNOW.
So, it looks like I went and got myself the flu. On Friday, I worked 17 straight hours and came home more exhausted than usual. When I got up the next morning to go back to work, I truly felt like a truck had run over my body, put itself in reverse and then backed over me one more time for good measure.
I went to The Other Job anyway because I needed to be there for An Event That Is A Major Part Of My Other Job. Within 1.5 hours I had grabbed a couple of unused table cloths and fallen asleep on the floor of my office, literally unable to drive myself home.
It was the best of times, no?
On top of having the flu, I also started having Some Other Problems That I Won’t Go Into Detail About Since I Have Male Readers that landed me in the ER sometime Saturday evening. It was, truly, a wonderful way to begin ringing in the holiday season. Merry Christmas, here’s an IV and catheter, we hope you enjoy your stay with us!
The only thing that would have made it better was if the doctor would have come in dressed as Santa with a bag ‘o gifts over his shoulder and some nurses scurrying around dressed as elves. Come to think of it, they should really look into marketing that idea. Hey kids, the line to see Santa at the mall is too long so we’re heading to the ER!
Um, medicine has suddenly kicked in. Back to bed for me. Be good out there and remember to drink lots of Sunny Delight to keep your immune system feeling good.
It has obviously worked wonders for me.
Get better soon Amy Beth!
Ughh, getting sick is terrible. Look after yourself my dear!
oooo sissy…get some rest!
Dang…. hope you feel better!
Hope you feel better soon! Take it easy and watch lots of chick flicks.
Poor Amy Beth! That is not festive at all. I hope you feel better very soon.
I realize this is probably not possible, but you need to get to your mama’s house and let her baby you for a while.
I am still *shivering* at the mere mention of catheter.
Poor girl. Heal quickly, ok.
The flu is God’s way of saying get some rest. So do it!
instead of a stocking this year– just cut the top off an iv bag! PERFECT and theme-y!
in all seriousness, just stay on that couch and recover. and don’t even feel bad about doing nothing! i always make people tell me it’s my JOB to be resting when i’m sick. so really, it’s like you’re working. while resting. multitask! ok, stop reading comments– go to sleep!!
hmmmm…I think you hate being sick like I hate being sick…. hope it is short lived!
Rest up and I agree with Amanda… try and get to your mama’s house for some TLC!
Oh, you poor thing! I’m so sorry you feel so miserable! Praying for healing that you’ll get past this quickly and be able to enjoy Christmas as it should be enjoyed, which is to say without a catheter and antibiotics! And I’m thirding the idea of getting some good TLC right quick!
