“Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galations 1:20, NIV
i say just get right under that blanket and stay there awhile! the puppy has the right idea and then tomorrow, come on out and face the world again. it will get better!
Puppy has a good idea! Good choice of verses – so true. I agree with the ladies above, sometimes a good hideout under the covers is necessary. Hope things calm down for you soon…
Oh, Amy Beth. I felt so much for you today. As I saw the blog posts coming in and the twitter updates, I could only imagine what a difficult time you must be having. I hope that things improve and after the emotions die down, that others think about the logical reasons of having the close Starlite. Though I’m not in “ministry,” I am a social worker and have found myself relating to many of your “tough” situations. I know how quickly people can burn out in the helping professions, and I just pray that this is an opportunity for God to use you in another area that needs you even more right now.
Amy Beth, hang in there. My husband and I have been in ministry for about 10 years now and people in the church and out can say the most ridiculous, hateful things–even those close to us. We just remind them that we won’t be answering to them on that day soon-coming so we are going to do what we feel the LORD is telling us to do, as crazy and out-there as they may feel it is. And, my flesh is a little “riled” up for you, even if I don’t know you IRL so I am glad I am viewing this from afar and praying the Lord’s rest, peace and love rests on you. I know it’s a heavy weight you carry but the Lord wants to carry it for you. His mercies are new EVERY morning!!! Tomorrow is coming….
These circumstances are FOR you not AGAINST you. They are shaping you for eternal glory and to become more like Christ not to bring you down. Romans 8:28-30
I’m glad your eyes are on God and not man, I pray they remain there as you weather and grow in this hard time.
For goodness sakes, I hope you are not being inundated with negative feedback. You have done a wonderful job. And if the season for Starlight is over, then know that you have served faithfully. Starlight has served an amazing amount of girls and made a huge impact for Christ. I know many personally that have benefitted, inlcuding my daughter. Of course your ministry will be missed, but God will raise up others where He needs them. He has a way of taking care of His children. He’s cool that way.
I’m thinking you should write a book, become a women’s speaker and see how many more people can learn from you. But that’s just be my opinion….
“Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
AB,
I want to wish you the best on your new and exciting adventure! Although change can be scary- its also a good thing. I cannot wait to see where the Lord leads you next!!!

I went to e-mail you this morning, when I got distracted by my own cutie-under-a-blanket.
Just know there are many of us out here who’ve got your spiritual back.
Feel like I should add this: You are precious to us.
What’s more, you are precious to God. You answer to Him alone.

Was praying for you yesterday. Figured it would be a LONG, LONG (and maybe a bit ugly) day.
Trust today is full of joy. Will pray that way.

sleep is a delicious thing…weeping will last for the night…but joy does come in the morning…
Hang in there. You answer to just One…and He knows.
My favorite verse, and so true. Praying for you.
