Daily Peek: A baby on her shoulder.
I had no idea when I bought Cuddles that he would be a puppy that would want me to carry him around my bedroom like he’s a baby with his little head resting on my shoulder every night when I come home from work but that’s what we do, each and every single night. Every human being needs something to give their love to, I think.
Even if that something is responsible for the destruction of every pair of ballet flats I’ve ever owned.
“She hears a noise behind the gate… perhaps a stranger she could love?”
Her Morning Elegance | Oren Lavie
P.S. — Listen to the song. You’ll like it, promise — especially the cello in the background.
And we’ll both be listening to it on repeat tonight.

Yes, love little dogs. That is why they are so great, always full of love to give! Mine always brings me joy even if he gets scared by the vacuum and poops on the couch…he still makes me laugh and smile.

I am thankful for your back and arms that Cuddles is so small. We have friends whose 40 lb dog likes to be held the same way. Not quite as pretty of a sight as Cuddles!

Amy Beth,
That song is beautiful. So sad. And so close to my heart now. OH my word.
I am praying for you tonight and will for many nights to come. Because while I do not know your personal situation. I know how hard the nights are for me and I hope and pray that you may find peace. And that I may find peace. And that you will trust the Lord. And that I may find a way to trust Him… and know that you’re right. I am fixable. And so are you. And I pray that God will show both of us that when we doubt it. And that he will be with you, holding you during these hard times.

Awww! This post makes me miss my little black scottish terrier, Alf. Our nightly routine is that I will get in the bed, he will eat dinner and get some water, and then he jumps up on my bed and offers himself as a teddy bear. He wakes me up in the morning with a complimentary face lift. Haha. Poor baby though, dad tells me that he’s not been quite himself since I left to finish out finals week.
Here’s to the little ones that love you the most when no one else seems to. *cheers*

Before I finally met my husband, there were times when it was my dog who was the only one to give me love for weeks. My dog became my prayer buddy. He would cuddle next to me as I would pour my lonely heart out to God. You have probably heard the saying “God with skin on”, well sometimes I think that our little fur-babies are God with fur on. That can be such as comfort and encouragement to us!

Just a note to let you know that I found your blog in a non-starlite-related way, and I’ve enjoyed it, because it highlights who you ARE, not what you do/have done. Hang in there.

The song is beautiful, AB. But I hope you’re not in the fighting for your life mode. You are loved, precious one. Soak it in.
