Triple the laughs, giggles and couscous.

May15

On my way home from surprising Katie at her wedding venue meeting, I made a quick call to J. whom you might know better as JMom from the very popular Lots of Scotts blog. If you don’t read her blog, you’re really missing out — especially on getting to know three very active TRIPLETS!

There’s R. for starters. He held my hand on our way to the swingset!

And, of course, K., the princess. She and I practiced a couple of ballet moves in the dining room.

And, lastly, P. I wish I had a better picture of him, but I think this one is a pretty accurate description of his darling little self.

We had the happiest few hours together, including modeling sunglasses. You’ll notice that P. is trying mine on for size. What can I say? I like big sunglasses and I cannot lie.

K. was nearby, of course. And by “nearby” I mean on top of the play table. Is she not the cutest little thing you have ever seen?

For those of you who read J.’s blog, I have to tell you that this was my third visit with them and I’m still convinced that you don’t see even 10% of how adorable these kids are from the stories on the blog.

You also don’t see how hard it is to keep up with three little ones! J. let me take the kids outside to play while she got dinner ready (and in case you’re wondering, yes, she really is Wonder Woman in the flesh). At one point I had R. throwing baseballs for me to hit with my wiffle ball bat while I watched K. pull up bricks from the front pathway to find her favorite insect (worms, in case you were wondering) while P. took a kid’s fishing pole to the beautiful flowering bush next to the driveway, causing the pink blossoms to find a new resting place right there on the asphalt which, of course, prompted the following conversation:

“P., are you allowed to do that?”

“Maybe.”

“I think we should ask your mom about that.”

“I think we shouldn’t and dat it swould be our secret, Amy Beff.”

Meanwhile, K. had found herself a worm that she wanted to show me and R. had lined up five balls for me to attempt to hit “into weft fwield, Amy Beff.” I swear I just turned around for one second but, then next thing I knew, P. was gone.

I ran into the kitchen to confess that I lost one of the three, sure that I was going to get my triplet-watching privileges revoked and stat. J. just laughed however and came out to check the backyard. Sure enough, P. was down the hill, happy as could be and probably in search of a new flowering bush to introduce his fishing pole to.

Dinner was next and it’s my duty to inform you that couscous was served which ended up being one of the highlights of my entire visit. If you’ve never watched triplets attempt to eat couscous without getting it all over them, you simply haven’t lived (didn’t I say that exact same thing about rice the last time I visited?).

We headed back outside after dinner for a little swingset action as well as playing at a small bridge at the edge of their backyard. After awhile it was time for baths for three little ones and a long drive home for one adult-ish girl. I said goodbye to each of them, got in my car and started towards home.

And, if you want to know the truth, missed those little darlings the whole way home.

And, if we’re going to be really honest, prayed that God would give me triplets one day, too.

Cool story. She and her husband thought they wouldn’t be able to have kids & finally got pregnant with a little girl. Then lo and behold, her daughter only 11 months old, she finds out shes naturally pregnant with triplet boys!! so fun :)

Soak up the days my friend. She is and always has been the hero and inspiration for all she encounters! If only you could see her before the triplets. She was just as amazing then as she is now. I always joked that she could run a country! God is amazing! He knows just what we can handle and will give us just that! Triplets are just what she is meant to have! She is sunshine….soak it up! I miss and love living as a roomie and traveling side by side with her everywhere! You are blessed to know her. I am so jealous that you get to have her and those babies to hang out with. Soak it up. I live in Birmingham and don’t see her or the kids that much! Even though it has been 13 years since we lived together…she still effects every single day of my life! You are blessed for life knowing her and so am I!!!
