Religion Blogs - Blog Top Sites

Also on the list: get a tan, grow five inches and lose half of my body weight by Saturday.

Well, I said I’d be back today with stories from my weekend in Memphis but I doubt that will actually happen because, you see, I have a to-do list that is making my head spin and “write a blog post” isn’t actually at the top of it, even though here I am writing a blog post whilst blow drying my hair.

Because, you know, I like to give you priority.

And seeing as I can’t accomplish anything on said list whilst blow drying my hair, I shall tell you a few things on my to-do list and I know you’re thinking WHY DOESN’T SHE JUST WRITE ABOUT HER TRIP WHILST SHE IS BLOW DRYING HER HAIR except for the fact you didn’t actually use the word “whilst” in your head but hello, I cannot do that because I am a wee bit stressed out over THE LIST which is thus causing me to use run-on sentences that would embarrass my seventh grade English teacher.

So.  The to-do list, as it were:

1. I’ve got to go pick up Katie’s wedding gift which just arrived at a local store here.  I will also need to wrap it, something I am not necessarily skilled at but will pursue with the hopes of making it look somewhat presentable.

2. I need to buy the sparklers for the wedding reception and figure out a way to keep them from getting too hot and exploding because, whilst I love sparklers, I do not love a large quantity of them exploding in my vicinity.

3. I need to locate shoes to wear with my bridesmaid dress. This would be an important task as my little flippy floppies probably aren’t exactly appropriate for an evening wedding.

4. I need to get the addresses for the Atlanta airport (picking up one of mine and Katie’s old roommates!), the wedding site, the hotel we’re staying at, etc. And then I shall plug them into the new GPS that my dad and stepmother gave me yesterday at which point I actually jumped up and down in the parking lot of Cracker Barrel because now I have something to keep me from getting lost AND HE TELLS ME DIRECTIONS IN A BRITISH ACCENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5. I need to stop writing this blog post because I just realized how boring it is and, really, it’s not like you want to read the other 14 items on my to-do list because do you really care about the fact that I need to find time to pick up my dress for the rehearsal dinner from the dry cleaners?

The good news is that Katie and I have been talking more in the past week than we did when we lived in the same house together.  We’ve talked about hairstyles and shoes and wedding announcements and, perhaps most importantly, the fact that someone bought Katie part of her dishes off her registry thus ensuring that she and Eric won’t be eating off paper plates for the first year of their marriage.

It’s the small things in life, really.

1. I’m so impressed that you can type and blow dry at the same time. I cannot.

2. You are incredibly good at wrapping, crazy girl! Don’t know what you’re talking about.

3. How did you get a GPS with a boy’s voice? I want one!

Number 4 was my fave. Love that you have a British accented GPS.

Um, what have you named him?

I love the days leading up to a wedding of a close friend! I was just as excited about my own as I was for each of my friends!

AB, your list deserves a list… :)

1) you are a great at wrapping. seriously please do not ask us to go back through your pictures and prove it to you.
2) when you pick up the sparklers, take a small cooler. I was a bridesmaid a few years ago for a wedding and had to do this. Coolers are meant to provide some kind of temperature control and you do NOT have to put ice in there. Plus, it keeps them from running into stuff which may spark them!
3) I suggest ALDO, but or Dillard’s in Chatt for great sexy hot shoes.
4) you are hilarious.
5)… BYE!! have fun!

Amy Beth, if you love your hair (and I know you do) try to keep the lit sparklers far, far away from your product laden head. My sister once caught her hair on fire with sparklers at a wedding. It was quite exciting but not in a good way. Some of her hair turned to ash and then Mom and I had to cut off all the singed ends with scissors. It would make such a great blog post for you, but so not worth it.

#2 made me really laugh. which i needed thank you!

the GPS british navigator must be named – does he have a name yet? for instance my sister and i named her GPS lady “Debbie” so that when she gets us lost (and she has) we can speak to her about it. LOL!!!

if you find out how to lose half your body weight please let me know because i’d LOVE that secret.

please post a vlog on how you type and blow dry your hair because seriously… i don’t think i could do that. not without blowing the hair dryer up or something… LOL

XOXOXO

PS I love sparklers…. just bought some yesterday :o )

I came upon your blog from a link on Brandy’s blog. First, let me say you have a new reader for sure! Second, tell me more about this wonderful GPS that gives direction in a British accent!!! :)

We bought our daughter a GPS for Christmas last year and she chose the British accent too. She named it Nigel :-)
