Saturday morning princess.
Riddle me this: why did Cate and I think it would be a good idea to go get our first Eg*pt trip immunization yesterday, a mere 72 hours before The Wedding of the Year begins?
Also, you may have heard the term “famous last words?” Well, I would like to share ours with you, words that were uttered as we ate a quick bite of lunch with the band-aids already on our arms:
Me: “You know, I really feel good. I don’t feel weird at all.”
Cate: “Me too!”
All I know is that, around 4 p.m., I started feeling kinda bad. And then by 5 p.m. I was feeling worse. And then, by 5:36 p.m., I was calling Cate:
Me: “Um, how do you feel? BECAUSE I FEEL AWFUL.”
Except maybe my language was a bit stronger.
Cate: “I FEEL HORRIBLE, TOO.”
Except maybe her language was a bit more colorful.
After we vowed to use only appropriate words to further describe the various side effects that come with HAVING A VIRUS INSERTED INTO YOUR BLOODSTREAM, we began discussing how ri-darn-diculous we were to do this before the wedding, especially on the day before we leave for it.
But, hey, it’s not like being in bed by 7:16 p.m. whilst staring at my bedroom wall because I’m afraid that moving even an inch might cause me to revisit my breakfast, lunch and dinner put a damper on my plans to buy sparklers, finish laundry, pack my suitcase, pack the puppies bag (don’t laugh), finish getting together part of her gift, etc.
But let’s talk about something a wee bit happier, shall we?
On my Saturday morning in Memphis I got to get up with the baby again, which was SO much fun for this single girl! I diapered and fed and generally pretended like I was a mama whilst rocking him for a little while so his real parents could sleep in a bit.
After putting him back in his crib, I heard movement from The Girl Formerly Known As Birthday Princess and peeked in to find her wide awake! We decided to play dress-up and surely by now you know that I wouldn’t be able to resist taking just a few pictures of that darling girl! We pulled out some clothes, grabbed the lollipop that came on top of my gift to her and had ourselves a little photo shoot right there in her bedroom! These have turned out to be some of my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken which is kinda remarkable since I was wearing my pajamas when I took them.

So… on a scale of 1 to 10, how likely are you to fly to South Korea just to take pictures of my two girls?
These really are amazing pictures, AB. I’m so impressed with your artistic eye. (And I guess it doesn’t hurt that the subject is so darn cute!)
Darling, darling pictures. You have quite the touch.
Hope you are feeling better!
You have some REAL talent there. Have you thought about a book?
That swine flu stinks, huh?
Oh no! I so hope you’re feeling better by now and able to get all those last minute things done before you leave!
And those pix are awesome! I know her mama will absolutely treasure them. And she will too when she’s old enough to appreciate how special they are!
I love the one of her sitting in her box!
I love love love your pictures! I hope you’re feeling better
