Set everything out on your bed before putting into the suitcase, roll your clothes, they crumple less.
Plan outfits, nothing worse than getting somewhere and realising that you have loads of things that are hard to match together. Laying out outfits will highlight if you need particular underwear etc.
I usually pack 2 shirts per pair of pants/skirt.
Underwear and socks are most important to have plenty of, other things can be reworn a few times.
You can get laundry done in Egypt for reasonable prices but beware of giving them anything delicate or shrinkable!
*ahem* girly products that one needs at certain times are hard to buy in Egypt….take plenty of your own!
A little day bag that you can keep walllet etc in was really helpful. It’s best if it can be a shoulder bag that you wear across your body and can keep your hand on while out…like a mini messenger bag
Okay, here’s my crash course from my trip to China…
1. You’re going to sweat… a lot. Therefore, lots of hair stuff, some kind of baby wipes or facial wipes so you don’t turn into an acne eyesore, at least 2 pairs of undies for every day.
5. dryer sheets in with the clothes to keep away static and to keep them smelling like home.
6. And a confession that I will never admit to: You gotta have a fanny pack. I know, I’m only 26, but really they are necessary. So convenient, so easy, so hard to steal unless someone is going to actually wrap their arms around you to unsnap them… so get one. It’s probably too late to have one monogrammed with a cute ABB, but that would have been a good idea.
I second the other comments. Extra deodorant, comfortable clothes/shoes, plan your outfits, etc. Rolling up the clothes is nice to fit everything in, but I have found that unless your bag is really small, it’s pretty easy to go over the airline weight limit before your bag is actually full. Take extra tissues or those “charmin to go” packs for, um, bathroom emergencies. I have no idea what the public toilet situation is there in Eg*pt but it never hurts to be prepared! An nice big package of baby wipes is a good idea too. And… have fun!

2. Mix and match.
3. Shoes: Comfort trumps Fashion overseas. Always.
4. A Journal… and lots of extra pens.

and also take that anti bacterial hand santizer stuff….it comes in SO handy.
$US come in very handy in Egypt so don’t change all your money. Try to take some new looking crisp singles…they’ll be useful
